The Disintegrations cycle is conceived as an experiment that pushes the medium of drawing – as the immediate trace of the interplay between thought and physicality – to its limits. The aim is to dissolve conventional spatial and narrative causality.

The starting point is a series of photographs that are deliberately blurred and distorted. These manipulated images serve as the basis for subsequent interpretative drawing.

The original image’s clarity and informative readability are intentionally dismantled. This allows spontaneous, unpredictable patterns and forms to emerge during the drawing process, guided by subjective mechanisms of interpretation. It results in image fragments stripped of semantic content. While composition and tonal structure of the source material are retained, the true “life” of these drawings unfolds on a micro level. The images can be perceived as coherent pictorial spaces, but also “read” like visual maps – scanned, explored, and deciphered.
